Who is abdixplorer?
Salam!

I dont know where you are right now in the world, but wherever you are, let me take you on a little journey on abdixplorers life and how i became a traveller and how/why you can do it too.

Put on your seat belt. Lets go

What the government knows

I’m Hassan, aka Abdixplorer. This is probably the first time you’ve heard my real name, so now you’re probably wondering, “Who’s this guy?” Well, I’m from Somalia, living in Australia, and like most first-generation immigrants, we started off living in flats, with the smallest kitchen, one bathroom for 5+ people, and a living room with all these fancy cups that never got used.

Like you, we all migrated from our motherland to come to the West for a better life (now I’m traveling back to the East for a better life, funny how life works, eh?). Now we have that life. So, this is the story and how you can travel too.

Where do I travel?

Because I live in Australia, I like to travel mostly in Asia. This is the closest major continent to us, with 48 countries and 4.6 billion people (over 50% of the world!). So, there is a lot to see! From the amazing food in Malaysia (nasi lemak, nasi kandar), the incredible beaches in Indonesia (Raja Ampat), to the kind people of Pakistan.

This part of the world, you can never get bored in. Some people travel the whole world, chasing 100+ countries, while others travel to their favorite 5 countries. I like to travel to my favorite region of the world: Asia. So, find your calling and start wherever, even if it’s your backyard. Every trip builds you up.

How do I do it?

To be honest, life is short. I know it’s cliché, but that phrase only hit me hard the day I traveled solo for the first time and experienced a whole other world/life out there that’s different from mine.

Life is short; there are 7 billion people on this planet, with 7 billion different perspectives, and we are only accustomed to the ones around us. So, I don’t have this great purpose in mind, where I want to change the world, bring peace, or cure some illness. No.

I simply want to add chapters to my life, tell stories to my grandkids one day about how I almost got arrested in Burma or how I was tracking tigers on foot in Nepal. And if I can inspire others to travel, to go out there and live a life they thought only the rich could, then I’ll be content.

What's next for me?
What’s next is to keep traveling and inspiring, making this my career so that one day I can look back and say, I didn’t give up, I really made it.
